Tourist destination in Belize
The Placencia Peninsula is a destination with white sand
beaches and clear waters as well as many soft palms. There are plenty of
attractions and Placencia is a good base for all kinds of activities.

as the only jaguar reserve in the world. Besides the jaguar, there are also a
number of other cats such as pumas and ocelots. Placencia has a variety of
resorts and hotels, all with their own characteristics and all located along
the beach. Strolling along the beach, you will also find bars and restaurants
that are aligned along the shore.
A small shuttle service is also available to help you move
around the peninsula. Most hotels can easily help arrange tours and snorkeling
the reef, which is only 17 miles. They can also arrange tours to many little
towns, such as Liughing Bird Caye, a small atoll that offers protected
snorkeling and swimming activities cays. Placencia is about three hours drive
from Belize, on the coast road on Highway South.
Along this route you can enjoy
wonderful scenery. You can also choose a flight with Tropic Air or Maya Island,
both airlines provide exciting flight of about 30 minutes, allowing you to
appreciate the Caribbean sea, land attractions and some farms. There are also
several daily buses to Placencia from Belize City.
Placencia is a small village located in the Stann Creek
District of Belize. The eastern part of the peninsula is a long stretch of
white sand beaches and mangroves. In the western part, however, the taste of
the Caribbean Sea seen much better.
Founded in the seventeenth century by
English settlers from Nova Scotia and the Island of Providence, was the
Spaniards who came to her in the nineteenth those who gave it its current name.

best day trip from Placencia. You also have Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary,
the Maya Centre Village twelve marked trails, a forest reserve where they live
jaguars and about 300 birds, Mayflower Archaeological Reserve or Reserve Bladen
River.
Finally we would Maya Beach, a small community on the
Placencia Peninsula located halfway Placencia Village Roversdale south and
north. The nearest village is Seine Bight, a historic settlement of the
Garifuna ethnic group. Maya Beach is a mile and a half long and it can be houses,
small resorts, Groceries, half a dozen bars and restaurants and even an art
gallery.
